Got a new freelancing gig at a startup here in Austin writing automotive stuff, and I have several offers on the 944. Today was a good day.

Everyone I know is talking about Austin these days. Question: what makes it the best state in America?

Well, it’s not the best state because Austin isn’t a state. But the city itself? Amazing food, great people, lots of outlets for creativity and personal expression. It’s very inclusive as well.

Lol. I totally knew that.
Sounds nice. Big music scene? Seems like there’s a big music scene. A guy I work with froths over Austin Psych Fest, and I saw this guy Shakey Graves last night who’s from there too.

5th fastest growing city in America, with 5 of the top 10 cities in TX. I’ve been living here for about 20 years, and it’s changed a lot. Lots more people means lots of construction and lots of horrible traffic, but it’s still a pretty laid back town. I like it here.

Hope it doesn’t get too much worse for you, that kind of stuff can really shake up your life.
They’re removing some level crossings from my train line at the moment, it’s taking 7 months (estimated) and severely impacting my daily commute. And once they’re done there are more scheduled for the future.
